MANA is a non-profit organization with a goal to eliminate social and economic challenges confronting Latinas. MANA de San Diego was created to empower local Latinas through education, leadership development, community action and advocacy. Some of MANA’s flagship programs include the Hermanitas® Youth Mentor Program, Silvia Chavez Scholarship Program, Latina Success Conference and the Día De La Mujer Latina Health Festival.
Interns will have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of how a local, non-profit organization operates. Interns will mainly help MANA de San Diego staff and volunteers coordinate its mentorship and scholarship programs. Plus, the intern will help strategize on how to improve the organization and recruit more members. Some of the responsibilities will include: event planning, public relations/marketing, writing/editing, administrative duties.
MANA is looking for interns with strong communication and writing skills including press releases, web content, brochures, etc. Interns will assist with research projects and office work. MANA will also ask interns to occasionally attend evening or weekend board/committee meetings so they have a better understanding of the organization.
The MANA office is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00am-5:00p. Interns are asked to work 10-15 hours per week. If you’re interested in the internship with MANA de San Diego, please contact Sofia Salgado, MANA Programs Manager at the number below or firstname.lastname@example.org.
