National Student Day Celebration!

All month long, students have been hard at work dedicating their time to benefit people and groups throughout the community. They have done everything from teaching arts and crafts, to playing bingo at the senior center, to cleaning up the beach. Aztec Shops, the SDSU Bookstore, and Student Life & Leadership have teamed up to make sure that all of the students’ efforts do not go unnoticed.

National Student Day is a day to recognize all of the community service that students and their organizations perform. Individual student and Recognized Student Organizations compete from September 3 to September 28 to see who can tally up the most community service hours. Prizes are given out at the Second Annual National Student Day Celebration at the SDSU Bookstore on October 4. And trust me; you won’t want to miss it! There will be free refreshments, a DJ, and discounts on SDSU merchandise. The event is open to all students, not just those who participated in the competition.

There will be over $2000 in prizes given out to those individuals and organizations who have performed the most community service. For individuals, first prize will be FREE textbooks for one semester. Second will be a $100 gift card to the Bookstore. Three honorable mention winners will receive a free pair of sunglasses from Solo Eyewear.

For organizations that rack up the most hours, first prize will be a $1,000 Bookstore gift card. Second place will receive a $250 gift card to the Bookstore. Three honorable mentions will receive a $100 bookstore gift card.
