Aztecs Rock Hunger Drive 2012

Calling All Aztecs! It is that time of year again. Time for our annual Aztecs Rock Hunger Food Drive. The Aztecs Rock Hunger Drive is happening from October 5th-28th. This food drive is in partnership with University of California San Diego, CSU San Marcos, and Point Loma Nazarene University. It is an annual competition that pins these four schools against each other to see who can collect the most food for the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank.

Our Aztecs were victorious again last year when we donated 55,000 pounds of food to the San Diego Food Bank. We now have won for three years straight, but that is not enough for our Aztecs this time around. This year our goal is to raise 100,000 pounds for the Food bank.

So how can you help?

Donate! You can donate any non-perishable food in the red bins that are going to be scattered around campus during the drive.

Another way to get involved in the food drive is to make a financial contribution to any Aztec market. This is a quick and convenient way for our Aztecs to get involved in the food drive without going out of their way. It is as easy as adding money to your transaction when you stop by the market.

Finally, the last way that you can donate to the Food Drive is through the SDSU Virtual Pantry. Every dollar donated through the Virtual pantry is equal to 3.84 pounds of food.

Three football games through the month of October will also host ways in which you can donate to the food drive.

So go out their Aztecs and kick off the month of October right by donating to the food drive!
