Volunteer for the Gran Fondo and Earn Your Club Some Money

As a former SDSU student and club president, I know that volunteer and fundraising opportunities are sought after. So, as the Volunteer Coordinator for the San Diego Gran Fondo, I wanted to extend a special opportunity to the student groups at my Alma Mater.

The Gran Fondo is San Diego’s largest annual 100+ mile charity cycling event. This Italian-inspired phenomenon returns to Little Italy on the weekend of April 13th-14th. For the third year in a row, this ride will benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation’s Operation Rebound, which supports American military personnel, veterans, and first responders with permanent physical disabilities by creating opportunities for them to live active, athletic and healthy lifestyles.

We rely on volunteers to make this event happen and are offering a financial incentive of up to $100 to groups/clubs that can commit to running an aid station, catering the post-party dinner, or helping with registration or goodie bag stuffing.  Furthermore, in addition to the usual good feeling of satisfaction that comes from helping others, student volunteers would get a limited edition 2013 Classic Gran Fondo San Diego t-shirt, an invitation to our Staff and VIP post-party, and a community service verification letter.

I encourage you to take a look at our website, www.sdgranfondo.com, to learn more about the event, Operation Rebound, and the specific volunteer stations and shifts.
