Interested in helping our community become a better place? Need or want some community services hours? Mamas Kitchen is an organization that serves kids, men and woman in San Diego suffering from either cancer or AIDS.
What this program brings is nutritious food by helpful cheerful volunteers. On weekdays volunteers go grocery shopping, make food, and deliver food for people in need. Volunteers also answer phone calls and help clients with grocery shopping. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday volunteers pick up food from one of their satellite pickup locations in North County, and then deliver to the client’s home.
This program is mainly looking for volunteers who can pick up and drop off food in the San Diego North County. Every weekend volunteers organize and attend a food drive for this cause at local food markets. Several of these volunteers have made lifetime friends while helping this program become successful. Even if you only volunteer once a week, every minute matters to the people who need you the most!
The first and easy step is to complete the volunteer orientation. The first one will be held on Tuesday, May 21 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at their main facility, 3960 Home Avenue, San Diego, CA 92105. “To confirm orientation dates and times or for more information, contact us at 619.233.6262 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org”.
