Hello there fellow Aztecs, this week I would like to shed the spotlight on an event that happened a couple of weeks ago that deserves recognition within our campus for its success. The Asian Pacific Student Alliance hosted its 17th annual Fashion Talent Show on Friday, March 12, 2013 in the Open Air Theatre. It was open to the public FOR FREE. The main purpose for the show was to showcase up and coming talent and fashion, to educate the public about Asian culture, and to bring awareness to talent, art, and fashion. This organization aimed at entertaining the public and showcase many different talents all while aiming to raise proceeds for the Asian Pacific Fund which is a community foundation established to improve the health and well-being of all Asian Americans in the Bay Area.
The show ran from 6-10PM and headlined a few up and coming Asian-American artists:
Julianne Manalo (www.facebook.com/JulianneAuroraManalo)
Lil Crazed (www.lilcrazed.com)
Also, here is a preview of some of the competing acts that participated at the event:
1.) Sizzle (http://youtu.be/J5HOUb2pGRo)
2.) Amy Monzon (http://youtu.be/oPAOAWwOC08)
3.) Vocal Vixens (http://youtu.be/rImBwMtU8wQ)
4.) Intrinsic (http://youtu.be/oskSR6mKaXM)
5.) Super Groupie (http://youtu.be/JxHp8jpjCwA)
6.) Kelvin Prom (http://youtu.be/sofKtcxuszQ)
If you were unable to attend, let me say that you missed out! But no worries because there is sure to be one again next year! If you happen to know anyone in the organization that hosted this event, take a few seconds of your time and congratulate them on the success of the event, because it was a long time in the making. That is all for now, until next time.
