Come and find out how to join the Relay For Life and have fun while helping to save 400 birthdays every day!
According to relayforlife.org ,each year, more than 4 million people in over 20 countries raise much-needed funds and awareness in order to save lives through the Relay for Life. There are three aspects to the Relay For Life: Celebration, Remembrance, and Fighting Back.
- Cancer survivors celebrate the challenges they have overcome. This is an especially joyous time and the drive behind the entire effort.
- Those who have fought or are currently fighting cancer and people lost to the disease are remembered and honored.
- Relay participants are inspired to take action against a disease that has taken too much
The Relay For Life is an overnight event where teams camp out overnight and take turns walking or running around a track or path at a local high school, park, or fairground. Events are up to 24 hours long, and because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times.
